A massive development linked the Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes to the Detroit Red Wings:
Quinn Hughes' contract will expire at the end of the upcoming season, and there's been a lot of speculation about his future in the NHL.
Not only was last year tough in Vancouver, both in the locker room in an individual way and in the standings as a team.
Over the summer, Hughes' extension has been a highly debated topic among fans.

The player himself was vocal about his intentions when he mentioned how he wants to play with his brothers someday, which was addressed by Canucks president of hockey operations Jim Rutherford during his end-of-season media availability last spring:
"This franchise cannot afford to lose a guy like Quinn Hughes, and we will do everything we can to keep him here, but at the end of the day, it will be his decision.
"He's said before he wants to play with his brothers, and that would be partly out of our control - in our control if we brought his brothers here. So, there's many moving parts."

Hughes is committed to the Canucks this season but could definitely seek to pursue his career elsewhere in case of another disappointing year.
This is where the Wings come into play.
Per a recent report, it's "more than just rumors" regarding Quinn Hughes' potential arrival to the Detroit Red Wings.
Although he mentioned he wanted to play with his brothers and seeing him join another team than the New Jersey Devils would be surprising, the Red Wings are in a position to make an enticing offer to Hughes.
The Wings could use a top left-handed defenseman to pair with Moritz Seider, and it's safe to say that Quinn Hughes would be a perfect addition to the blue line.
