Detroit Red Wings head coach Todd McLellan has confirmed that newly acquired goaltender Petr Mrazek has left the team with one game remaining on their road trip.
Head coach Todd McLellan confirmed the worst-case scenario news this morning, and now Mrazek's needing to be evaluated in Detroit before he can step foot on the ice again.
General manager Steve Yzerman said that the acquisition of Mrazek at the trade deadline was to create a battle between the pipes and to push Cameron Talbot, Alex Lyon to be on their A game if they wanted to start games in goal.
Petr Mrazek injured
That didn't last long, in Monday's game Mrazek went down with an injury early on.
For the past several games since the NHL trade deadline on March 7, Alex Lyon has been deemed the 'odd man out', as he's sat comfy in the Red Wings press box as their third-string goaltender.
Now things quickly change, Lyon and Talbot are back to sharing the crease, as Yzerman's injury-prone trade deadline acquisition has fallen to injury once again.
Throughout the past five years, Mrazek's injury report has been far from pretty, have a look:

As injury prone Mrazek attempts to heal, the Red Wings will take on the Colorado Avalanche in hopes to keep their winning ways going.
