A Detroit Red Wings forward was linked to a Stanley Cup contending team in trade rumors, suggesting his time in the organization could end soon.
With
Emmitt Finnie and Michael Brandsegg-Nygaard making their NHL debuts this year, players like
Jonatan Berggren appear poised to leave the team.
According to a new report, he was linked to a Stanley Cup contending team.

The Avs have great offensive depth, but after watching
Mikko Rantanen leave last season, they could be interested in adding a high-upside player like Berggren as they prepare for another playoff run.
Berggren had a great season when he first came into the league in 2022-23, scoring 28 points in 67 games.
He spent the next season mostly in the AHL and returned to the NHL last year, where he scored 24 points in 75 games.
He signed a one-year deal valued at $1,825,000 this summer and looked forward to the current season:
"Last year was a good year for me. I feel like I got more opportunity after Todd [McLellan] became head coach, and I think I played better. This one-year deal is a prove-it deal for me. I want to show what I can do."
"It felt like I was part of the team. It's hard when you're going up and down between the AHL and NHL, so I got that confidence being there for a full year, and I'm going to build off that."
However, the player hasn't taken part in a game this season so far, and his place in Detroit isn't guaranteed anymore.
