According to a new report, he was linked to a Stanley Cup contending team.

The Avs have great offensive depth, but after watching Mikko Rantanen leave last season, they could be interested in adding a high-upside player like Berggren as they prepare for another playoff run.
Berggren had a great season when he first came into the league in 2022-23, scoring 28 points in 67 games.
He spent the next season mostly in the AHL and returned to the NHL last year, where he scored 24 points in 75 games.
He signed a one-year deal valued at $1,825,000 this summer and looked forward to the current season:
