The Detroit Red Wings are at a very large advantage following the unfortunate injury update on Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk on Thursday.
Senators captain
Brady Tkachuk is set to be sidelined long-term following a hand injury suffered against the Nashville Predators.
"Here's the play that resulted in Brady Tkachuk's hand injury. The #Sens captain is expected to miss more than four weeks and may require surgery.
An absolutely devastating blow for this team. Sending good vibes towards Brady for a speedy recovery."
For the Red Wings, this dwelling news puts a large setback on their Atlantic divisional rivals point production in the regular season leading up to the NHL playoffs.
Brady Tkachuk likely to require surgery and be out long-term for the Senators
The latest update coming from head coach Travis Greene does not sound promising whatsoever; following Tkachuk seeking a second opinion on Wednesday, it clearly did not go well, as a true declaration on his injury is still up in the air.
The only thing Green knows is that it will be a significant amount of time. Originally, the timeline was a minimum of four weeks; now, it's looking like it could be up to two months minimum.
"Tkachuk is still being evaluated. He will be out for a significant amount of time. "I don't have an update," said Green.
