Former NHL goaltender Carter Hart is reportedly closing in on a $1.8M AAV deal with a Western Conference Stanley Cup contender en route to his return to the NHL.

After months of rumors, the former Philadelphia Flyers goaltender and 48th overall pick is finally returning to the NHL.
Indeed, according to the latest reports, the goalie is signing a deal with the Vegas Golden Knights.

Golden Knights Reportedly Sign Carter Hart To Two-Year Deal

The Vegas Golden Knights were already in the midst of the rumors about Carter Hart, but a recent development reinforced the connections between the two camps.
Indeed, Adin Hill had to walk down the tunnel in the Golden Knights' last game after receiving a shot on the mask and awkwardly falling on the ice:
Now, it appears that the Golden Knights have found his replacement, with a deal set to be officially announced in the near future between the organization and the controversial goalie Carter Hart.
"Hearing, like others, that Carter Hart and Vegas are closing in on a deal.

Word is it's coming in around 2 years, $1.8M AAV."
Hart missed the full 2024-25 season for reasons we all know. In his career, the goalie took part in 227 games with the Philadelphia Flyers. He won 96 games, had six shutouts, a 2.94 GAA and a .906 SV%.
He won't be eligible to take part in a game until December 1st, meaning the goalie will have time to work on his game to return to his former level before returning between the pipes.
This move is likely to attract negative criticism towards the Golden Knights, who were already widely criticized when they removed a reporter's press credentials for a game after he asked around the team about Hart.
