The Detroit Red Wings organization is reportedly willing to trade away either Travis Hamonic or Erik Gustafsson for a center.

Adding a forward on the trade market at some point this season appears inevitable for the Detroit Red Wings organization.
Despite winning four straight games, the Wings could greatly benefit from acquiring a center or a prominent winger for the team.

Red Wings To Target Center On The Trade Market

Steve Yzerman built an impressive prospect pool in recent years, but not all the players are ready to play in the NHL for a top team.
As of now, the team could use a forward, and Pagnotta stated that he believes the team will be interested in parting ways with either Travis Hamonic or Erik Gustafsson.
Here's what he said:
"There is some talk that the Wings are looking at and are open to moving some of their defencemen, and I think there's mutual interest there from the player side of things.

Those are a couple of veteran pieces it doesn't look like there's much room for some of these guys. I think they've started to explore that possibility of moving them or at least letting everybody know that there's some availability there.

They've got a bunch of different pieces that they're willing to explore. But because of the plethora of guys on that backend, don't be surprised to hear guys like Hamonic and Gustafsson's names out there, especially in the next little bit."
Among the potential targets, Calgary Flames captain Mikael Backlund and veteran Jean-Gabriel Pageau have been identified.
These two players would provide interesting depth to the Wings. Considering Hamonic and Gustafsson aren't in the lineup, it would make sense to trade either one of them for a center.
