The Detroit Red Wings have one underrated forward you should look for on waivers this week in your fantasy hockey league.
That depends on if you haven't drafted him in a keeper league beforehand.
Forward
Emmitt Finnie has turned heads in the NHL as a 7th-round pick, 201st overall in Nashville, by Steve Yzerman.
The former 2023 7th-round pick
is a steal of a waiver choice in a bangers league, as he provides multiple stats in different categories. aka a "Cats" league.
Why Emmitt Finnie Is The Best Waiver Claim For Your Team
He's a categorical monster this early in his career; depending on your league, he provides plenty of options to score points in your league.
Also keep in mind, while we're discussing this, your results may vary, as Fantrax is different than Yahoo, the two platforms I'm most familiar with.
But he has plenty of upside that the Red Wings are tapping into now, with a dynamite start to the season, 5-1 in the Atlantic, solidifying themselves as top dogs early.
While he's still growing as a player, keep in mind his CF% (corsi-for) percentage is still in flux, as his on-ice stat is 43.4% per Hockey Reference.
The Red Wings with Finnie don't control the ice like they should with a stat like that, as they'd need 50% out of him or more to dominate.
Whether or not you are willing to take a risk is your own prerogative, but for Finnie he's a low-risk, high-reward acquisition if he's still available on the waiver wire.
