The Detroit Red Wings organization will leave a forward behind as the team travels to St. Louis for the first game of a week-long trip to the West Coast.

Last night, the Red Wings offered an inspiring performance to their fans, scoring six unanswered goals to beat the St. Louis Blues 6 to 4 in the first of two matchups against Jim Montgomery and his team.
What's impressive is that the team has been able to beat Jordan Binnington six times in less than two periods without one of their top offensive producers: Patrick Kane.
Todd McLellan shared his thoughts on the win after the game:
"You couldn't have been more disappointed early and more full of joy at the end. That's an incredible comeback when we had absolutely nothing going on. It was a borderline disaster."

Today, the coach shared an update on Kane's status as the team prepares to fly off to St. Louis for a rematch against the Blues.

The Red Wings have a tough stretch ahead of them, with five away games in a week, including matchups against the Los Angeles Kings and Vegas Golden Knights.
However, they could get some massive reinforcements during the trip, as Patrick Kane, who missed the past four games due to an injury, could return soon.
McLellan confirmed that while Kane won't leave with the team to St. Louis ahead of the Blues matchup, he could join his teammates at some point during the trip:
"Todd McLellan confirms that Patrick Kane won't leave with the team to St. Louis but that he could potentially make an appearance as part of the West Coast trip."
Stay tuned for updates on Kane's injury and the Red Wings' road trip out West.
