Genborg has helped his club, Timra HC, overcome the Leksand HC recently.
In 14 games of the SHL season, he's scored 8 points (5-3), an improvement over his 2 points in 28 games last season with Linkoping HC.
He'd show up when the team needed him the most on Thursday, as he tied the game against Leksand with 37 seconds left, allowing Carolina Hurricanes prospect
Simon Forsmark to end OT only 23 seconds in.
«It feels good. It's an important win, and we'll take that any day of the week,» says Eddie Genborg after the 3-2 win against Leksand
The Detroit Red Wings Stole Eddie Genborg In the 2nd-round
The 2nd-round selection has been projected as a bottom-six forward in the NHL. Clearly, the kind of player the team
could build the future with, especially if you're realistic about his projections:
Eddie Genborg projects as a bottom-six NHL power forward who can bring energy, physicality, and defensive reliability to a lineup. His game is built on strength, positioning, and off-puck play, making him a valuable asset for teams looking to add size and toughness.
He was selected 44th
overall in the 2025 NHL Draft, and while his projection remains other than an All-Star, keep in mind that teams need bottom-six forwards in the lineup every night.
