Talk about a highlight-reel worthy goal from rookie forward Marco Kasper, who doubled the Red Wings' lead in the third period over the Los Angeles Kings.
The Detroit Red Wings won their 3rd consecutive game at Little Caesars Arena, beating the Los Angeles Kings 5-2 and picking up additional valuable ground in the Atlantic Division standings.
While the Red Wings initially fell behind in the 1st period 2-0 which included an own-goal from Detroit defenseman Moritz Seider, it wasn't long before they fought their way back into the contest.
Lucas Raymond scored shortly after the Seider blunder, and the Red Wings then got goals from Alex DeBrincat (PPG), Elmer Soderblom, and then a spectacular diving goal from rookie Marco Kasper in the third period.
Kasper broke in on a 2-on-1 rush with Dylan Larkin, and while his initial shot was stopped by Kings goaltender Darcy Kuemper, Kasper dove to bang home the rebound.
