The Detroit Red Wings are keeping their fingers crossed that a secondary scorer will be able to step up his production soon to help the team win.
The Red Wings have endured a four game losing streak just last week. Marco Kasper has scored only three points, all goals, in 28 games, and a lot more is expected.
More Is Expected From Marco Kasper
In the NHL, sophomore slumps are a recurring thing, as most players are asked to develop their complete game after a year of trying to handle the pressure.
With only three points, it's safe to say that Kasper is right in it.
"It's definitely not easy at all. Obviously, you're gonna get frustrated, and I'm not happy with how things are going personally, but I've talked about it before. All I can do, I think really, is just go out and practice, stay on the ice, work on things, work hard, and then go out in the game, try to build confidence with little things, make the simple play, make a hit, stuff like that."
"There's going to be periods where you don't score at all, where just things are not going right. I think I'm just trying to go back to the things that I can do well and that I can actually, like, take control of, which is work hard, compete, and show up every day with the right mindset and do my best."
Kasper hasn't been able to add his name to the scoresheet in the last 15 games of the season. Hopefully the young forward will find his groove back sooner than later.
