We regret to announce the passing of Glen Hall.
The hockey community is in mourning over this monumental loss of someone so important to the sport.
The NHL legend earned the nickname "Mr. Goalie" throughout a storied career that began with the Detroit Red Wings, where he spent four years wearing the winged wheel.
Hall's legendary career wasn't only marked by the win of one Stanley Cup, but he helped forge an iron man career with 502 consistent starts in the NHL for both the Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings from 1955-56 to 1962-63.
His career trajectory would reach its peak when he won the ultimate prize with the Chicago Blackhawks in 1960-61. It took only a short time for him to become the hockey player he'd wanted to be after being traded to Chicago with teammate Ted Lindsay ahead of the 1957-58 season.
The Humboldt, Saskatchewan-born goaltender revolutionized the game with the "butterfly" style of netminding, influencing generations of future NHL players with his performances.
