The NHL has ceded its ground to another sport, as the Detroit Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs game will be shown later, due to the Toronto Blue Jays' ALCS game.
The game was originally
scheduleto begin at 4 P.M. ET at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. The game has been pushed back to 2 P.M. to accommodate the Toronto Blue Jays' American League Championship Series game.
The National Hockey League announced today the start time to Monday's Detroit Red Wings-Toronto Maple Leafs matchup (Game #43), originally scheduled for 4 p.m. ET at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, will now begin at 2 p.m. ET (Prime, TVAS in Canada, FDSNDET in U.S.).
The change is to accommodate Game Two of the American League Championship Series being held at Rogers Centre in Toronto, on Monday.
Once again, the NHL is taking a back seat to another sports league. We don't say this begrudgingly, as the Toronto Blue Jays deserve their success and have worked hard to make it this far.
But as far as the NHL goes, they're too eager to accommodate leagues that have left them by the wayside.
The Detroit Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs Series
The Red Wings have won the last two preseason games against their Original Six rivals. In those two games, the team has outscored the Maple Leafs by three goals, and with hope, Monday's game will be no different.
As regular-season play begins, the team is 0-1-0, and will look to get out of the self-imposed hole they've put themselves in on Saturday against the Maple Leafs on the 11th, at 7 P.M.
