The Detroit Red Wings' 2nd-line forward Alex DeBrincat found a way to break his goal drought and help find a way to defeat their rivals, the St. Louis Blues; his teammates commented on the points dripping in soon after.

Rejoice, fans. Alex DeBrincat's goal drought is over as the well flows with points.
He had scored 6 points this season, and all were assists, which seemed odd for the former 39-goal-scoring forward.
However, against the Red Wings' rivals, the St. Louis Blues, the superstar forward finally turned on the scoring touch on the 23rd.
He'd leave the game with 2 points (1-1) and be a vital part in helping to end the Red Wings' own slump.
Ironically enough.
His teammate J.T. Compher commented on the troubled statistic:
"He could eight goals right now, I mean even in the last two games, it's been post, crossbar, that stick save the other night," explained J.T. Compher, who also scored as part of the comeback win. "I don't think anyone in this room wavered in belief in Cat, and he never wavered himself. He's an unbelievable, high-end goal scorer in this League. We knew it was coming and to come in that spot, he just keeps shooting and that's what he's good at."

"When you're not scoring and not getting chances, it's one thing. But I think he's 70 shot attempts this year, so we're happy for him. He earned it."

Alex DeBrincat Found A Way to Score Against Jordan Binnington

The third period is when DeBrincat would find a way to end his goal-scoring drought against Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington.
He'd help lead the rally for the Red Wings and put a wrist shot past Binnington, which would help clear the 4-goal deficit and lead to a tie game in the third period.
A sight that many in Little Caesars Arena had been hoping for, and the team itself needed. As a former 70-point forward in 2024-25, a drought like this seems uncharacteristic, and it's a great thing that he'd help put the team back on the right path.
The team is now 6-3 in the Atlantic Division and aiming for a spot in the playoffs.
With Alex DeBrincat back, we could very well see them make a legitimate run with his help. Could this year be the year they end their playoff drought, too?
