The Detroit Red Wings Have Been Linked to Pittsburgh Penguins Forwards Rust And Rakell, And Now The Trade Costs Revealed
The Detroit Red Wings are eager to add scoring punch in the top-six and Steve Yzerman revealed that he is in the works of completing a trade during a recent interview.
Detroit's been linked to Bryan Rust and Rickard Rakell, and Dan Kingerski of Pittsburgh Hockey Now has just revealed what it would take the Red Wings to acquire them.
Penguins reveal asking price for Bryan Rust, Rickard Rakell
For Rickard Rakell, Pittsburgh would reportedly seek a «B+ level prospect or young player» and a draft pick in the 25th to 48th range (early second round).
Kingerski revealed that Rust's value as «sky-high,» with Pittsburgh demanding a guaranteed first-round pick and a young player capable of filling Rust's role within a season or two.
«Rust is difficult to pin down because, like his value, there are intangibles. On paper, Rust and Rakell should not be much different, but they very much are. »Rust's leadership could transform a team like Detroit, potentially turning them into a playoff contender. «Could he turn Detroit, Buffalo, or even the Anaheim Ducks into a playoff team? It appears that Dubas is holding firm, on Rust, Rakell, and even Erik Karlsson.
