New rumors have surfaced, speculating that the Detroit Red Wings organization is set to acquire a 6-foot-4 power forward from a divisional rival, the Montreal Canadiens.
It is evident that the Detroit Red Wings are in dire need of adding another top-six forward to complement their scoring for the 2025/26 NHL season, as they intend to become bigger competitors.
This top-six forward would ideally land as a second-line center, however, if one isn't available, a scoring winger would be the organization's next-best option.
And new rumors and speculations have surfaced, regarding a potential addition to the Red Wings roster.
This player being Josh Anderson, from divisional rival, the Montreal Canadiens.

Adding Anderson to the Red Wings could undoubtedly alleviate the organization's need for a top-six forward.
To add, Anderson is also listed in the Fourth Period's 2025 Summer Trade List.
The reasoning behind this top forward being added to the list is due to the fact the Canadiens are in desperate need to clear some cap space this summer.
However, it is worth revealing that the Habs don't necessarily need to trade Anderson, but could do so if another deal opened up elsewhere.
This ultimately means that the Red Wings could easily benefit from the Canadiens' potential cap-clearing move.
