RUMOR: Dylan Larkin out as Red Wings captain and the next leader has been revealed

The Detroit Red Wings' current captain, Dylan Larkin, is a hallmark of the franchise. He's 33 years old, a proven producer, Michigan-born, and is signed until the 2030 NHL season.
Should things go south, and Larkin ever trade, the team will have to have a choice of who to follow in his footsteps in their back pocket.
Candidates for leadership positions are hard to come by, as leaders aren't born, they're trained.
Who would be the next in line for the Red Wings?
The 23-year-old forward has proven to be a reliable weapon in the
Red Wings' lineup, and last season scored 80 points. With 320 games under his belt and a newly minted $64.6 million contract, it's obvious he could be next in line.
His poise on the ice is one that screams leadership and the will to win.
Seider has proven himself to be the backbone of the
Red Wings' defense after playing 328 NHL games. He's scored 180 points (29-151) and has logged heavy minutes on the ice and played on special teams.
He's a proven two-way contributor, scoring 46 points last season (8-38), while his play has earned him a nice cushion at $8.55 million AAV in Detroit.
Seider could be a great candidate for Captain.
While Copp doesn't have the flash or skill that Raymond does, he provides something else on the ice: grit. Copp is a native of Michigan and is a face-off maestro, and in 56 games, he's scored 23 points (10-13).
He's played well enough to be trusted on the penalty kill and has 700 games underneath his belt. It's not news that he's trusted in the team's locker room and could be a great candidate for the next captain, should we ever reach this point.
