These several Detroit Red Wings have just freshly inked new deals
Several former Detroit Red Wings players have signed professional tryouts ahead of the 2025-26 NHL season.
NHL training camps will officially be underway in the coming days, with the first preseason games set to take place in a week.
In Detroit, fans are eager to see how the players will respond after another disappointing season in 2024-25, starting in the preseason.
Six Former Red Wings Join NHL Teams On PTO
As of now, six former members of the Detroit Red Wings have signed PTOs in the NHL.

Luke Glendening is heading to camp with the New Jersey Devils. Between 2013 and 2021, Glendening wore the Red Wings uniform for 444 games, recording 37 goals and 83 assists for a total of 120 points.
Brendan Smith will try his luck with the Columbus Blue Jackets. He was with the Red Wings from 2011 to 2017. During his time there, he played 358 games with Detroit, scoring 20 goals and adding 69 assists for a total of 89 points.
Givani Smith has joined the Carolina Hurricanes. Smith was wit hthe Wings from 2019 to 2022, playing 53 NHL games, tallying 4 goals and 7 assists, giving him a total of 11 points.
Adam Erne and Cross Hanas will be skating with the Dallas Stars. Erne played for Detroit from 2019 to 2023. During that span, he appeared in 241 games with the Red Wings, where he collected 27 goals and 36 assists for a total of 63 points. As for Hanas, he never made it to the NHL.
Finally, Tyler Motte
will attend the Florida Panthers camp. He played 55 games with the Red Wings in 2024-25, scoring 4 goals and adding 5 assists for a total of 9 points during that season.
