Head coach Todd McLellan made a player comparison that will excite Detroit Red Wings fans.

The Detroit Red Wings had a lot of pressure to win last night against the Toronto Maple Leafs following a very disappointing 5-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens at the Centennial season home opener last Thursday.
A bounce-back performance was expected from the Wings, and that's exactly what they did.
Last night, they beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 6-3, with three points each for Alex DeBrincat and Patrick Kane, two goals for Lucas Raymond, and seven more players getting on the scoresheet.
After the game, McLellan was much more positive about his team.

It wasn't an easy start to the game for the Wings, who took on a two-goal deficit in the first period.
However, the team bounced back in the second period, scoring three unanswered goals to take the lead.
Here's what he had to say about his team's effort:
"At that point, we had given up seven straight goals, but we didn't roll over. We were disappointed at what had transpired, but we settled in and played well.

We didn't give up a bushelful of odd-numbered rushes, which is a good sign. We played with more pop and more energy."

He also made a massive comparison, saying Lucas Raymond and Marco Kasper both remind him of former Wings captain Henrik Zetterberg:
"The competitiveness in him, he's a fiery guy, you know, I didn't know he was as evasive with the puck, you know, how he can pick his way through.

Shot's tremendous; he's learning how to be a real good leader and he commits to the defensive side of the puck, and, you know, I think if I remember last year I used the comparison of Hank when he was here, Zetterberg, and well I think I used that with Kasper a little bit too, but those two players remind me of the way he played."
Raymond scored his 100th NHL career goal last night.
Reaching that mark at 23 years old is truly impressive, and fans are eager to see what his next milestone will be.
