Detroit Red Wings head coach Todd McLellan has gotten tired of the veterans cutting corners during training camp and called them out for their recent performance against the Penguins.

Such a harrowing statistic should motivate veterans to fight and keep their jobs, you'd think, right?
But that doesn't seem to be the case for this year's training camp, as Head Coach Todd McLellan has grown tired of the team's poor performance, specifically calling out veteran players.
«Just like you have to scrap to get into the league, you got to scrap to stay in the league,» McLellan said on the team's website. «And there's always somebody pushing. And I'm not sure that sometimes the veteran players always understand that.»
The team's disappointing performance against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday led to him addressing the situation in post-game interviews.
«There's a group of players that are going to play in Chicago tonight,» McLellan said. «For some it could be their last opportunity.
«And that group, I hope, I believe they can go and perform really well tonight and make it hard on us.»

McLellan would address the veteran players' lack of fight on the ice on an individual basis.
