Former NHL forward Ryan Kesler's actions at Detroit Tigers game go viral
Former NHL star Ryan Kelser made himself famous (again), since he not only made an appearance at the Detroit Tigers and Seattle Mariners game, but threw back Cal Raleigh's grand slam ball, with anger (the announcer referred to him as "that guy").
Ryan Kesler is a former NHL star who played for the Vancouver Canucks, and the Anaheim Ducks during his long career.
Instead of making waves by arguing with John Tortorella or leveling another NHL star with a brutal hit, he is making news with another action: returning a Grand Slam.
He got to witness his Detroit Tigers take on the Seattle Mariners yesterday, and would incidentally catch Cal Raleigh's Grand Slam in the stands.
The Grand Slam was his 38th home run of the season, and he would be a vital part of the Seattle Mariners' 12-3 victory over the Tigers.
Here you can see in Comerica Park, Kesler, aka (that guy), winding back to return to sender:
As a passionate baseball fan, there's nothing you hate more than seeing your favorite team get demolished, which is unfortunately what happened to the Tigers yesterday.
Raleigh's Grand Slam added the last four runs in the 9th, which would solidify the 12-run beating the Tigers took, which Kesler took umbrage with. Who can blame him?
At least Raleigh will get to keep the ball for his own collection, right?
Kesler has decided to spend his retirement from the NHL enjoying the sport of baseball. It must be nice when you're made bank playing 16 years of hockey with the Canucks, and Ducks.
His estimated net worth is $6 million, if you subtract Cal Raleigh's Grand Slam ball.
Raleigh's 38th homer leaves him one shy of Barry Bonds' 39 half-homers, the most in MLB history during the 2001 season.
