Altercation between multiple Detroit Red Wings teammates during red and white game
Altercations between multiple teammates went down during the Red & White Game, showing the high competition and intensity of this year's training camp in Detroit.
Moritz Seider Shows High Compete Level In Red & White Game
The Detroit Red Wings defenseman Moritz Seider showed that he's ready for the season during the team scrimmage on a few occasions.
After a whistle, Seider got into it with JT Compher:
He also made a big play when he laid a massive open-ice hit on Michael Brandsegg-Nygård in the neutral zone:
During the same game, he also sent Elmer Söderblom flying into the bench, according to Max Bultman:
It was a great sight for head coach Todd McLellan, who praised the competitiveness and physicality displayed on the ice during the game:
"I thought the guys were a little more competitive today than they were yesterday. There was physicality in the game. The ice was harder to come by, so it was tighter. There wasn't a lot of free space. It was getting closer to what real hockey should look like."
The coach also talked about how impressed he was by the veterans and the younger players:
"[The veterans] have been really good. There hasn't been anybody dragging their butts or cutting corners, but I expected that from all of them. The youth have certainly pushed. There have been some really good performances by some players who have provided pace and tenacity, and that's a real good sign as well."
This bodes well for the Wings' first preseason game, set to go down tomorrow night against the Chicago Blackhawks.
