Beloved longtime Detroit Red Wings commentator Ken Daniels is unavailable for the 2nd consecutive game as part of the Detroit 4-game road trip.

For over 25 years, Detroit Red Wings fans have been spoiled by the comforting and exuberant commentary of Ken Daniels behind the microphone for local broadcasts.

Routinely ranked among the best NHL commentator lists year in and year out, Daniels and Mickey Redmond are regarded as arguably the best duo behind the microphone in the NHL today.

But for the 2nd consecutive game, Daniels is unavailable to broadcast games. Grand Rapids Griffins commentator Bob Kaser is serving as a substitute for tonight's game against the Calgary Flames at the Scotiabank Saddledome as he did on Thursday against the Oilers.

Kaser has spent 25 years of his own as the commentator for the Griffins.

Right now, no information has been given as to why Daniels is absent, and fans are anxious to have him back.

I like Bob Kaser but it's just so strange to not hear Ken Daniels on a Fox / Bally / FanDuel Red Wing broadcasts.

Where is Ken Daniels?? I need him back like how I need oxygen to breathe

I have an unhealthy level of Ken Daniels withdrawals tonight

Help! Where is Ken Daniels?

Daniels has called Red Wings games since the start of 1997-98, and has typically been paired alongside Mickey Redmond, who has been a color commentator for the Red Wings dating back to the 1980s.

So far tonight, Bob Kaser has gotten to call a pair of Red Wings goals, starting with Dylan Larkin followed by Simon Edvinsson.
