Blackhawks fans insult Detroit at Chicago Cubs game

It's always been one of the better rivalries in professional sports, and fans in both cities have never liked one another.

Detroit and Chicago have battled many times in all 4 professional North American sports leagues, and there have been numerous battles between the Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks both in regular season and postseason play.

One of the favorite chants of Chicago fans, usually at United Center, is a chorus of "Detroit sucks!" at the top of their lungs. Regardless of how either team is doing in the standings, fans at United Center can expect to hear that chant broken out several times whenever the Red Wings are in town.

That chant was heard earlier today at historic Wrigley Field on the north side of Chicago when former Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith tossed out the 1st pitch:

Blackhawks fans probably aren't fond of the fact that their former superstar Patrick Kane now plays for the Red Wings, and by all indications, wants another go-around with the team for next season.

There were also numerous legendary battles between the NBA's Detroit Pistons and the Chicago Bulls, especially during the "Bad Boys" era of the Pistons against Michael Jordan's Bulls.

The Detroit Tigers and Chicago White Sox are divisional foes, as are the Detroit Lions and the Chicago Bears. There will be a new added element of the gridiron rivalry this year, as former Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson spurned Detroit to take the head coaching job with the Bears.

One thing is for sure - the rivalry between the Motor City and the Windy City remains as strong as ever.
