Is there a five-alarm fire in Boston? Head Coach Joe Sacco just praised his team's performance against the Detroit Red Wings, which resulted in a 2-1 loss yesterday.

The Boston Bruins are 2-7-1 in their last ten games under Head Coach Joe Sacco. The season can be considered over for all intents and purposes, as their hopes of a wild card spot are dead in the water.
Instead of preaching accountability for his team, he has instead doubled down on the same thinking that hasn't delivered results. He praised the Bruins for their resilience against the Red Wings, but they were unable to overcome a team that is still fighting for the playoffs in the East.
Patrick Kane, Marco Kasper, Moritz Seider, and Lucas Raymond would all get on the score-sheet that night and deliver a crushing blow to the hopes of the Bruins and Jeremy Swayman.
The ramifications of the Bruins' trade deadline, which depleted the team's roster aside from Charlie McAvoy, Jeremy Swayman, and David Pastrnak, are just beginning to be felt.
As they were unable to mount a comeback that night, which could've only been a two-goal difference, but for this Bruins team was a monumental task.
Sacco's praise:
"I liked a lot about our game tonight. I thought our compete level was high. I thought there was a lot of intensity in our game tonight.
It's unfortunate that we didn't come away with the result that we wanted. Obviously, it's frustrating. I feel for the guys, but we gave a solid effort here tonight. We just fell short."

In short, it seems premature to praise a team that has been demolished by GM hubris. It might seem unreasonable for fans to be angry and want the jobs of both GM Don Sweeney and Interim Coach Joe Sacco, but Sacco could end up being the sacrificial lamb for the Bruins.
The Bruins deserve a better coach and a better GM honestly, and the Coach will go first before Jacobs decides to get rid of Sweeney.
If I wer a fan of the Boston Bruins, I'd want more out of my club, and that would involve cleaning out the coaching staff and front office.
