Detroit Red Wings Acquire 80-point forward From the Dallas Stars in Significant Proposal

The Dallas Stars only have $4.9 million salary cap space to work with. In order to keep the Stars a fledgling and successful franchise, they will have to consider other options, and that could mean moving $7.75 million forward, Jason Robertson.

The Red Wings could easily fit his cap hit with $21 million in cap space available and plenty of assets to work with.

One trade proposal we found interesting was one that saw the Red Wings weaponizing their assets in order to gain an 80-point superstar.

The deal would send the Red Wings' 2025 and 2026 1st-round picks, and prospects Max Plante and Shai Buium to Dallas for Jason Robertson.

The Stars would be able to utilize the prospects as trade chips, while getting two more shots at a future top-six prospect with those two draft picks.

While the Red Wings would get a jolt of production with Robertson joining the lineup. Robertson is in the fourth year of his $7.75 million AAV deal and would be an immediate fixture on the team's top line.

Yzerman would have to sign Robertson to an extension for the team to win the trade, but he'd be another piece in the team's future playoff hopes.

The Stars would receive Shai Buium, who was a fixture in the AHL, scoring 25 points (2-23) in 67 games this year. While Plante is a center for the UMD Bulldogs, and scored 28 points (9-19) in 23 games.

The Red Wings need to fix the lineup before they can truly call themselves contenders, and this could be a massive step towards that end.
