Detroit Red Wings' projected offer to land Stars' Jason Robertson

The Detroit Red Wings are one NHL team that doesn't have a team that can make a run to the playoffs. But with the addition of 80-point forward Jason Robertson, they could find themselves in unforeseen territory in quite some time.

According to The 32 Thoughts Podcasts' Elliotte Friedman, the Stars may not be ready to part ways with Robertson just yet, but could be gauging his trade value for the future.

If that eventuality does arrive, Steve Yzerman needs to have his phone ready and the assets needed to make a deal.

A deal we're all pondering, what would the cost be? Would the Red Wings give up a lot for him?

If the trade were to happen today, though, what would it look like hypothetically? As the Stars need to find cap space, Robertson could become a cap casualty.

Which could mean the Red Wings might have to part ways with Simon Edvinsson, Marco Kasper, or Nate Danielsson, two 1st-round picks, and two third-round picks, just for example.
