Trade Proposal: Red Wings Acquire $27.3 M Flames Defenseman For A Top Prospect

The Detroit Red Wings don't have much in reliable blueliners as the team has
Simon Edvinsson and
Moritz Seider. They'll need to fill out the top four in order to stay competitive when the season gets competitive near the middle of March and April.
Red Wings acquire:
Rasmus Andersson
Flames acquire:
Nate DanielsonMichael Rasmussen
2026 third-round pick
While it'd be a trade that would require sacrificing a bit of the Red Wings' future, it could improve the team's postseason prospects.
Andersson is a top-pairing defenseman in the NHL, and could improve the blueline, and offer leadership for Seider and Edvinsson. He's got a great two-way style of play and can help on both the penalty kill and power play.
An all-around defenseman who isn't afraid of battling for the puck either. In 81 games this season, he's scored 31 points (11-20).
As it stands now, Yzerman has been way too pedestrian with trades and signings, and
Dylan Larkin was right to call him out at the end of the season.
The Flames would get a future middle-six forward in Nate Danielson in return, as the 9th OA pick in 2023 could find himself in the lineup much sooner in Calgary than he would in Detroit.
They'd pick up depth forward Michael Rasmussen, who was also a 9 OA pick in 2017 and has found himself as a forechecker in Detroit. While not an offensive wunderkind, could be a great forward in the middle-six, and scored 21 points (11-10) in 77 games this season.
