Moritz Seider is the Detroit Red Wings' top defenseman who is making GM Steve Yzerman proud, and should be considered for Team MVP, as he put himself up with Mackenzie Weegar, with 200+ hits, and 40+ points this season.

Red Wings defenseman Moritz Seider played a total of 82 games for the team this season and contributed 46 points (8 goals, 38 assists) and 212 hits playing.
He's remained a consistent performer for the Red Wings, as this is now his fourth season wearing the winged wheel.
This kind of performance from Seider who has yet to post under 40+ during a regular season deserves some kind of honors.
Team MVP sounds nice for the former 6th overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft.
This kind of elite two-way play puts him up in the ranks with someone like Mackenzie Weegar, who has him beat with 234 hits on the year.
While we shouldn't expect Seider to play at the same level as Weegar just yet, it takes longer for defensemen to develop in the NHL. And his path seems to be on the right trajectory, as he's capable of playing on both sides of the puck.
He posted 20 of his 46 points this season on the power-play.
The Red Wings hit gold when they drafted Seider in 2019, a defenseman who they believe is their top guy, paying him an AAV of $8.55 million for the next six years.
Seider finished this season playing an average TOI of 25:04 and playing some of his best hockey even with questionable partners on his left, like Ben Chiarot.
Do you think Moritz Seider is the Red Wings MVP?
