Detroit Red Wings duo Alex DeBrincat and Lucas Raymond have officially cemented a historic record that hasn't been seen for almost two decades.

The Detroit Red Wings' 2025/26 NHL season has blown last campaign's run right out of the window, as this Original Six franchise has shocked the National Hockey League with their impeccable success this far into their campaign.
Last season was undoubtedly a struggle for Detroit, leading this club to unfortunately miss postseason contention for the ninth season in a row.
However, halfway through this campaign, the team has recorded a 29-16-4, which puts them in second place in the Atlantic Division.
Not only is that hinting at the Red Wings making this year's playoffs, but a new report has just revealed this organization is making new historic records.

Detroit Red Wings duo reach historic record for the first time since the 2007/08 NHL season

New insight on social media, via "X," unveiled that both Alex DeBrincat and Lucas Raymond have officially both reached the 50-point mark, which will be the first time for the Wings since the 2007/08 NHL season.
Take a look:
"Alex DeBrincat and Lucas Raymond both reached the 50-point mark of Friday night's game-opening goal, giving the Detroit Red Wings multiple 50-point scorers before the club's 50th game in a season for the first time since 2007-08 (Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk)."
This report is not just confirming individual success within the franchise, but a response to the post unveiled that the last time this happened was the last time the Detroit Red Wings won the Stanley Cup.
"We won the cup that year so I'm down for history to be rewritten."
The Red Wings won the Stanley Cup in 2008, the same year that both Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk reached the 50-point mark before the club's 50th game of the season.
