Detroit Red Wings Goalie Prospect Continues Hot Streak With Huge Playoff Win

Rudy Guimond has been deemed as one of the biggest steals of the 2023 NHL draft by GM Steve Yzerman.
Guimond is a goaltender who continues to impress with an undefeated record, that personally made me do a double take.
The young goalie, playing for the Moncton Wildcats in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), stopped 19 shots in a 5-4 win against the Baie-Comeau Drakkar.
This win was to end the series in their best-of-seven playoff matchup, advancing them to the next round.
Guimond is set to attend Yale University in the fall and has not lost a game this season.
He went 16-0 during the regular season and has now added five more wins in the playoffs, keeping his perfect 21-0 record intact.
In the postseason he's allowed just 2.02 goals per game (GAA) and stopping 92.2% of shots he's faced (.922 save percentage).
Reg. Season and Playoff totals

21-0
1.81 GAA
0.936 SV%
4 SO

He was drafted in the 6th round, #169 overall by Detroit in 2023
His performance is exciting for Red Wings fans as Detroit cotinues to struggle to find consistent goaltending.

Guimond is now taking his skill to college hockey, his strong showing this season in the QMJHL playoffs shows he could be a future star for Detroit.
The Red Wings, who missed the playoffs again this season, are looking to young talents like Guimond to help rebuild their roster.
While he's still years away from the NHL, he is certain to make an impact upon arrival, whether that is with the Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL) or the Red Wings.
