Detroit Red Wings players excelling and taking over 2025 World Championships

Red Wings forwards Lucas Raymond and Marco Kasper both are helping their respective teams in the 2025 IIHF World Championships.
While the season ended for the Detroit Red Wings without a playoff spot, not all of their players decided they wanted to hang up the skates for the summer.
Both Lucas Raymond and Marco Kasper are playing for the Swedish and Austrian squads, respectively, in the 2025 IIHF World Championships.
Additionally, Erik Gustafsson and Moritz Seider have also gone overseas along with Michael Brandsegg-Nygard.

Raymond, who reached a career-best 80 points (27G, 53A) this year, said it was disappointing that the team fell off in March as they did last season and missed the playoffs.
I don't know to be honest. We put ourselves in a good position before the Four Nations break to be in a good spot, coming back and making a good push for it. (Then) it didn't click for us in a period of time. That really set us back. It was kind of going uphill for us. You look at back at games, same last year, and it just goes to show you how important every game is.
With a full season of Marco Kasper starting the year with Detroit along with a full Training Camp with Todd McLellan, the Red Wings should be in much better shape come next spring, and it will hopefully result in their playoff drought ending.
