Detroit Red Wings reportedly willing to make push acquire Auston Matthews' Leafs teammate

According to recent reports, the Detroit Red Wings are in the hunt for Nick Robertson, Auston Matthews' teammate and a Toronto Maple Leaf.
Should this deal come to fruition, it would be nice and juicy for the Detroit Red Wings, as they could steal talent from their divisional rivals and add talent for the future.
Nick Robertson recently signed a one-year, $1.825 million contract in Toronto, but due to the cap issues, he could find himself the odd man out in the lineup.
While the Maple Leafs did avoid arbitration, the chance still remains that he'll have to find himself in a new uniform soon.
For the Red Wings, this would be the perfect time to pounce on the forward, and they've been linked to the forward recently.
That was according to a report from Sports Illustrated's Jacob Punturi, who has linked him to the Original Six team, amongst two others, including the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Chicago Blackhawks.

Last season with the Maple Leafs, Robertson scored a total of 22 points (5-17) in 69 games for the Buds. While he found more time on the ice with Craig Berube as coach, it seems his time has come to an end in Leafs territory.
What would a trade for Robertson look like?
The Red Wings could easily swing for the fences for Nick Robertson, as Kelsey Surmacz of The Hockey News believes he could be pried from the Maple Leafs' clutches with a third-round pick.
The Red Wings have three third-round picks in 2026, 2027, and 2028.
