Detroit Red Wings updated odds at making the playoffs highlight a chance

The Detroit Red Wings and Head Coach Todd McLellan could still find a way to make the playoffs, as they're not yet mathematically eliminated from playoff contention.
The Detroit Red Wings are 33-33-6 and 6th in the Atlantic Division. Even thought it is easy to do, don't count them out of the playoffs yet.
They sit below the Columbus Blue Jackets (73 points) in the Eastern Conference Wild Card race with 72 points.
Playoff Chances
According to MoneyPuck, the Red Wings could find a way to make it into the playoffs, but there's a 7.2% chance. The site gives them a 6.5% chance to gain the second wild-card spot at the moment.
Despite the loss last night, they tried their best to keep up with the Ottawa Senators, who were handed a free goal after Brady Tkachuk's uncalled penalty against Lucas Raymond.
The less disastrous scenario would be an overtime (or shootout) loss. The Red Wings chances of making the playoffs would only dip by 1.8 percent, down to 5.4 percent.

The team would lose 4-3, and as a result, is still in the hunt despite overwhelming odds.
The Wings have two more games in which they can pick up four points in regulation if they can beat the Boston Bruins, who are in the midst of a retool, and the St. Louis Blues, who are in the hunt for the playoffs in the West.
Without Lucas Raymond, the Red Wings will have to continue their push by committee.
That means all lines producing, or maintaining possession to the best of their abilities. We shouldn't expect much out of the bottom-six, but in a right race like the team is now, they need help from Showtime and DeBrincat to gain a solid footing in the playoff hunt.
