Dylan Larkin's postseason interview with Brad Galli was full of optimism and belief that he and Steve Yzerman can progress and turn themselves around with ambitions of a higher level of play next season, but he did also comment on how he believed the team did not bring in any reinforcement at the NHL trade deadline.

The Detroit Red Wings finished the season 6th in the Atlantic, and would make a slight rebound once Head Coach Todd McLellan was hired. He'd lead the team to finish the year with a 39-35-8 record, and 4th in the Wild Card rankings in the East.
Unable to make the playoffs, Dylan Larkin left Little Caesar's Arena unhappy and would criticize GM Steve Yzerman.
Needless to say, the confidence in his team was at an all-time low. After some reflection during the offseason, he'd be interviewed by Brad Galli and would give us an insight into his thought process at the moment.
Larkin made a statement that had an air of confidence that this Red Wings team and organization could course correct and meet the goals they've set for themselves.
His goals: the playoffs and the Stanley Cup, which he stated explicitly. All the while, he'd compliment his teammates, like Simon Edvinsson, Marco Kasper, Lucas Raymond, and Moritz Seider, on stepping up their game and growing as players in the NHL.
"We want to win. We don't want to just make the playoffs, we want to win the Stanley Cup...and parading down Woodward. It's time this thing starts ramping in the right direction."

- Dylan Larkin
He feels excited for next season, but he has to have the right tools to grow into a Stanley Cup contender. Which means that GM Steve Yzerman needs to ramp up the team in the right direction.
The idea behind his statement is clear, which is a challenge to Steve Yzerman to make the team better this postseason.
Which, honestly, we haven't seen much of. He missed out on Evander Kane which the Canucks acquired for a fourth-round pick, while Chris Kreider was sent to Anaheim for a prospect (Carey Terrance).
There's two players who could've made a significant impact for cheap.
Instead, as usual, Yzerman's on his Yzerhands, while his captain has issued a statement that is nothing but high expectations for the organization and his teammates.
