The Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin shared his thoughts about his team's winning streak, attributing that success to a crucial aspect of the roster.

Dylan Larkin and the Detroit Red Wings extended their winning streak to five games last night, beating the Edmonton Oilers to take an early lead in the Atlantic Division standings.
Even if the Oilers haven't had the start they were expecting, teams must always be careful when facing Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.
But the Wings handled the game well, beating Edmonton 4-2.
After the game, Dylan Larkin and Todd McLellan made interesting comments.

Larkin And McLellan Open Up On Five-Game Winning Streak After Beating McDavid and The Oilers

Larkin opened up on how the game was fiercely disputed, but the team defended well, which led to offensive production:
"I knew it was a long stretch. Maybe it helped us a little bit when it got chaotic. Good defense is going to lead to offense against that team, and that's what happened tonight."

As a great leader, Larkin also talked about his teammates and how some of them stepped up to lead and contribute:
"Winning in different ways and leadership from all throughout our lineup.

Albert Johansson had one of his best games tonight, but it probably won't get talked about-what he's done for our blue line.

(Mason) Appleton coming in, JVR, how he just makes play after great play that probably won't get talked about.

We have guys contributing in ways that aren't on the scoresheet, and when guys are out, we have guys stepping up."

With his vast experience, McLellan views the team's success in a more measured way, attributing it to great goaltending and improvements in other areas as well:
"I don't think there's a secret sauce. Our goalies are giving us a chance every game, we're not giving up 40-45 shots against, and the penalty kill has improved. When all that happens, you get a little more confident."

The Wings will look to extend their winning streak Wednesday as they face the Sabres in Buffalo.
