Emmitt Finnie stays hot as he extends his goal streak in Red Wings vs. Sabres Wednesday

Emmitt Finnie has continued to be a bright spot for the Detroit Red Wings this season.

The former 7th-round, 201st overall pick in Nashville has been a steal for the team.

In three games, he's scored his third goal.

Tonight's goal was scored at 1:40 to play in the 2nd-period of tonight's game against the Sabres.

He took advantage of being in front of the net to redirect Dylan Larkin's feed, proving that Finnie is is willing to get in the dirty areas to help the team win on a nightly basis.

This was Finnie's 6th point in 7 games this season, adding a goal to his totals (3 G-3 A).

Dylan Larkin and forward Lucas Raymond were credited with the assist on Finnie's third goal of the season.

The team was missing Patrick Kane, and his absence in the lineup was evident, as they were unable to pull away from a game that was tied in the 2nd period 2-2, thanks to goals from Emmitt Finnie and J.T. Compher.

While the Sabres would respond with Tyson Kozak and Jason Zucker tallying a goal each.

The most unfortunate thing of all is that tonight's loss to an Atlantic Division rival ended the team's 5-game winning streak, as the team is now 5-2-0, and with a record 1-1-0 on the road.
