If Steve Yzerman wants to stabilize the Detroit Red Wings' bottom six, he could acquire this Edmonton Oilers forward.

The team that sits atop the Atlantic Division at the moment?
It's the Detroit Red Wings who have steadily improved after their 5-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens during the home opener.
While Emmitt Finnie and Axel-Sandin Pellikka have proven to be players who have made themselves key role players in the lineup, they have one thing missing: depth.
For Stanley Cup-winning teams, depth helps win games. They help wear down the opponent and maintain control of the ice.
One depth forward who is on the Red Wings' radar as of late is Edmonton Oilers forward Mattias Janmark.

The Detroit Red Wings could acquire Mattias Janmark

It's well-known that the Red Wings are a team that collects Swedish players like infinity stones.
Janmark would be the latest jewel in Steve Yzerman's gauntlet, and Eklund of Hockey Buzz has linked the Red Wings to him.
«They (Red Wings) have looked very strong early, but remain thin down the middle behind Dylan Larkin,» Eklund wrote on October 21st. «And they've always had a soft spot for hard-nosed Swedish players.»

«Tonight, an Edmonton source informed me there have been talks - very recent talks, in fact.»

Ironically, he was drafted 79th overall by the Detroit Red Wings in 2013 and has never suited up for the team at all.
Instead, he's become a journeyman in the NHL, playing for the Vegas Golden Knights, Chicago Blackhawks, Dallas Stars, and now the Edmonton Oilers.
At just a $1.45 million cap hit, the Red Wings could easily shoulder the cost of a depth forward like Janmark in the fold.
Janmark has been out of the lineup as he's on injured reserve for the Oilers.
