Detroit Red Wings Patrick Kane gets emotional following 4-1 loss to Canadiens

The Detroit Red Wings' recently acquired veteran, Patrick Kane, seemed to have been consumed with emotions last night after the team's heart-breaking loss against the Montreal Canadiens.

On Tuesday, April 8, the Red Wings stepped on the ice against the Canadiens at the Montreal Arena, the Bell Center. The game would start off on a great foot for Detroit, almost guaranteeing the team two extra points to help boost their standings in the Eastern Conference Wild Card spot. However, the matchup eventually took a whopping turn, as the Canadiens somehow took a 4-1 lead in the third period.
This match-up was expressed as a make of break game for the Red Wings' probability of squeezing into playoff contention this year, as they stand just below the Canadiens outside of the Eastern Conference Wild Card line, and it was evident on some Red Wings' faces that they are aware that their fate in the 2025 NHL playoffs have been confirmed to be a bust.

Although the Red Wings' line-up was notably emotional following the game, Detroit's first-liner Patrick Kane seemed to be extremely impacted by the loss, as he was evidently choking up in the post-game interviews.
Take a look:
It's unfortunate that Kane has been consumed with the weight of this loss and how the organization's general manager, Steve Yzerman, has let down the team as a whole for yet another season.
With the 36-year old being a free agent this summer and only having a few years remaining in his career, do you think Patrick Kane will continue to pursue the Detroit Red Wings' re-build, or will he strive to play for a playoff contender?
It would be a horrible sight to see if the Red Wings lose their veteran, however, the likelihood of this forward staying in Detroit's roster looks like it just disintegrated.
