The Detroit Red Wings are 3rd in the Atlantic, and if they're to stay atop the division, they'll need to follow these details to pull off a win against the Blackhawks, according to Lucas Raymond.

Both teams facing off today are celebrating their Centennial Season.
The Detroit Red Wings have begun the year with a solid start, 3rd in the Atlantic with a record of 9-6-0 and will be matched up this afternoon against the Blackhawks.
Forward Lucas Raymond's revealed his own personal blueprint to help get the Red Wings out of their slump, as they failed to vanquish the New York Rangers and Vegas Golden Knights recently.
Raymond's plan is simple: bear down in the opposition's zone and convert on chances deep.
«You've got to bear down on the chances you get,» Lucas Raymond said. «Tonight I think we had plenty of chances to score one, two, on a good night, three. But we didn't. And that's what matters, and we need to adjust it and get better moving forward.»

This forward core is very scrappy and full of talent, ranging from Marco Kasper, Emmitt Finnie, to Lucas Raymond and Dylan Larkin.
The team will need scoring by committee to overcome the Blackhawks, who have a player in the name of Connor Bedard, who has been on fire, scoring 22 points (8-14) this year.

The Detroit Red Wings need to defend home ice

For the Red Wings, the best kind of defense is a good offense, which Dylan Larkin can serve as the spearhead today at Little Caesars Arena.
Larkin has 18 points (8-10) and isn't far behind Connor Bedard, Macklin Celebrini, and Nathan MacKinnon, who are all above 20 points this season.
The dirty areas are where Detroit will need to focus, especially against a future Vezina candidate, like Spencer Knight.
To spark offense, you need all hands on deck.
«We're not getting to those dirty areas right now where a lot of the goals are scored. We talked about it after the Vegas game, we knew it coming into this game, and it's easy when it's not going in to start looking for it even more," he continued. "For us right now, it's just about keeping it simple, getting back to it."

The Red Wings won't have it easy against the Blackhawks and will need to play like it will be a slog.
