A major turn of events has surfaced regarding former Chicago Blackhawks veteran, Patrick Kane, and his future within his organization, the Detroit Red Wings, as free agency talks loom.

New insight has surfaced regarding Patrick Kane's former Chicago Blackhawks captain and teammate, Jonathan Toews, as recent news revealed he is set to sign with the Winnipeg Jets on July 1st.
This will be Toews' first time back in the National Hockey League since April of the 2023 season, as he had been limited due to diagnosis of Chronic Immune Response Syndrome (CIRS).
However, following the major development in Toews' return, rumors have sparked, speculating that his old linemate, Patrick Kane, may decide to join him in Manitoba.

And according to Detroit Red Wings team reporter, Max Bultman, Kane's exploring his options on the open market:
"My sense is the veteran is at least weighing his options."

Despite Kane openly stating he would like to re-sign with the Red Wings during his season exit interview at the end of the NHL regular season, Bultman notes that a deal would have already been completed if those were still his intentions

Could Jonathan Toews' former linemate, Patrick Kane, be enticed to join him with the Winnipeg Jets?

Fans and reporters have begun addressing the possibility and expressed inviting messages to Kane on social media via 'X', in intent to lure him into re-joining his former linemate, Toews.
Take a look:
«Hey Patty Kane- You're more than welcome to join your pal Jonathan Toews in Winnipeg for another Cup run!!!! Why the hell not?!»
Although many seem to be intrigued on the idea of a Kane and Toews reunion, the current Red Wing seems to be far more likely to re-sign with Detroit, who he has played with since December of the 2023 season.
Kane openly announced his mutual interest between himself and the Red Wings' front office of another contract, while also noting it would be difficult to separate his young son from his friend, Archie DeBrincat, the son of his linemate and former Chicago Blackhawk teammate, Alex DeBrincat.
However, it is not guaranteed that Kane will stay in Detroit, and the fact that himself and Toews won three Stanley Cups together while playing for the Hawks, he may be more open minded to a new destination this offseason.
Do you think Patrick Kane would like to join Jonathan Toews in Winnipeg for the 2025/26 NHL season?
