Steve Yzerman has to look like a genius, as Red Wings signing Eduards Tralmaks continues to stun with his skills at the IIHF World Championships.
Today at the IIHF World Championship, the Red Wings have some representation on the Latvian team.
The goal was as you'd expect from Tralmaks, silky-smooth hands, with a determined shot once he deked by the defender in front of the net.
Team Canada defenseman and Stanley Cup champion
Brandon Montour would make the mistake of leaving him open in the slot
His goal was scored at 12:55 in the 1st on retired NHL goalie Marc-Andre Fleury, who was backstopping Team Canada.
The Latvian crowd would be sent into a fervor. While this would be Latvia's only goal for the day, Tralmaks has provided us with enough highlight reels this offseason to get excited for his arrival in the Detroit Red Wings system.
GM Steve Yzerman signed Tralmaks to a one-year, $775K deal with the
Red Wings.
He's coming off a 51-point season in 2024-2025 with the Czech Extraliga's HC Kladno, owned by NHL legend Jaromir Jagr.
This will be his second stint in the
AHL, as he last played professional hockey in America with the Providence Bruins.
The 28-year old was undrafted, and started his professional career in 2020-2021 with the P-Bruins, after ending his collegiate career with the University of Maine.
