Bleacher Report writer Lyle Richardson believes that Florida Panthers' winger Brad Marchand could be a candidate to land in Detroit once July hits.
Brad Marchand's time with the Florida Panthers has been short, but sweet. He's made the most of the playoffs, scoring 8 points (2 goals, 6 assists) in 8 games with Paul Maurice's team.
The trouble for the Panthers is that he's a pure rental for the team and, as a pending UFA, could command a larger salary elsewhere.
Marchand was traded to Florida at the 2025 Trade Deadline after he and GM Don Sweeney were unable to come to terms on a new contract.
Bleacher Report's Lyle Richardson believes he could be a solid option for the Red Wings in July, should he be available.
«Marchand's leadership, vast playoff experience and agitating two-way game could make him the type of player to help the Red Wings break through as a playoff team. Their postseason drought has lasted nine seasons and they must add another experienced scoring forward,» Richardson wrote of the fit in Detroit.
