The Detroit Red Wings applied some modifications to their lineup for Friday's crucial division game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

After a rocky start to the season, the Tampa Bay Lightning are currently standing at the top of the Atlantic Division, having won eight out of their last ten games, with a five-game winning streak, which they will look to extend in Detroit on Friday.
On their part, the Red Wings are coming off two straight losses to the New Jersey Devils and Nashville Predators earlier this week and have fallen to the fifth rank in the division.
Ahead of the crucial game against the Lightning, Todd McLellan announced a new lineup.

Adjusting is what the NHL is all about. For a struggling team, changing line combinations and trying out new things is essential to gain some momentum back.
That's exactly what the Wings did for today's game.
Indeed, here is the lineup that will be sent on the ice to face the Tampa Bay Lightning at Little Caesars Arena on Friday afternoon:
Finnie - Larkin - Raymond
DeBrincat - Kasper - van Riemsdyk
Copp - Danielson - Kane
Rasmussen - Compher - Appleton

Edvinsson - Seider
Chiarot - Sandin-Pellikka
Johansson - Benard-Docker

Gibson
Talbot

As you can see, Patrick Kane was removed from the second line and placed on the third line, while James van Riemsdyk took the spot alongside Marco Kasper and Alex DeBrincat.
Simon Edvinsson is also back in the lineup after being sidelined with an illness, while Jacob Bernard-Docker returns after being a healthy scratch last game, and Erik Gustafsson was sent back to the AHL.
Stay tuned for updates on the game.
