The Detroit Red Wings must dump underperforming forward that contributed to playoff miss
New insight has revealed the Detroit Red Wings are suggested to dump an underperforming player who contributed to the organization missing the playoffs.
The Detroit Red Wings 2024/25 NHL season was nothing less than underwhelming as they missed postseason contention for the ninth year in a row.
This being said, the team is in dire need to make major moves this offseason if they are hoping to break their playoff absence streak, and new insight has revealed one huge component to the organization's postseason absence is due to forward
J.T. Compher.
Compher's season was extremely disappointing, and if he put up a better game when the stakes were higher than ever, the Red Wings might have broke their unfortunate streak.
Although this is just speculative, imagine the regular season being completed with a version of
J.T. Compher capable of a 50-point season.
Things were have turned out much different.
With that being said, Compher's underwhelming play was a direct contributor to the poor outcome of the Detroit Red Wings 2024/25 NHL season.
However, the Red Wings are in an unfortunate position with this forward, as he still has three years remaining on his 5-year, $25.5 million
contract, so the likelihood of the organization to trade him is very slim.
Yet, if the Red Wings punch their ticket into the playoffs for next season, players like Compher are in dire need to boost their gameplay or Detroit will endure postseason absence for the tenth year in a row.
Do you think
J.T. Compher has what it takes to bring more to the table for the Detroit Red Wings in the 2025/26 NHL season?
Fans are hopeful, but only time will tell.
