The Detroit Red Wings shared great news about Patrick Kane's injury following the 1-0 loss to the Golden Knights in Vegas last night.

What the Detroit Red Wings accomplished during their five-game road trip was impressive. They managed to return home with a 3-2 record despite not being able to count on one of their top scorers: Patrick Kane.
The former Chicago Blackhawks forward hasn't traveled with the team as he deals with an injury that has kept him away from the ice for nearly three weeks now.
Last night, the team closed the road trip with a 1-0 loss, and after the game, head coach Todd McLellan shared an update on Patrick Kane that brought some morale back in the locker room and among the Wings fanbase.

Todd McLellan Shares Great News About Patrick Kane's Return

Although McLellan confirmed that Kane isn't ready to return to the lineup yet, the coach added that "there's a really good chance" the veteran will join the team Thursday for practice.
In his own words:
"That is a sign that there's a really good chance he could skate with us on Thursday.

Again, we're not there yet, but we're getting feedback from some really important people, including Patrick, and we're hoping that he can practice with us and we'll see where it goes from there."

In five games this season, Kane, 36, has tallied two goals and three assists. While he was away from the lineup, Mason Appleton has been filling in on Marco Kasper and Alex DeBrincat's wing, but he hasn't brought the same offensive production that Kane does. In the past 10 games, Appleton has recorded three assists.
The first line took on most of the offensive workload, combining for 28 points in the 10 games since Kane got injured.
Following the tough loss to the Golden Knights, the team will look to find the back of the net for the first time since the shootout win against the San Jose Sharks on Friday night as they host the New York Rangers.
