We now know when Patrick Kane will return to the ice from his upper-body injury, according to Detroit Red Wings coach Todd McLellan.
The Red Wings are sitting pretty atop the Atlantic Division.
But one thing is missing, as the team is without forward Patrick Kane. A 1,307-game veteran in the NHL.
With three Stanley Cup championships to his name and 1,348 points scored (494-854), he's a vital piece to the lineup.
Not only is he a 20+ goal-scoring option, but he's also part of the leadership core.
After being sidelined for three weeks after his upper-body injury, which he suffered on October 17th, here's the latest.
Todd McLellan's update on Forward Patrick Kane
"There's a real good chance he can skate with us on Thursday," coach Todd McLellan said on Tuesday
If you went into
panic mode before about his absence from the lineup, be patient, as good things are on the way.
"We're not there," McLellan said. "But we're getting feedback from some really important people, including Patrick, and we're hoping he can practice with us and we'll see where it goes.
The veteran forward suffered the brutal injury after colliding with the boards behind the Tampa Bay Lightning's net. He'd leave favoring his shoulder while exiting the ice afterward.
The team would win 2-1 in OT but would lose Patrick Kane in the process for nine games.
An ultimate, Pyrrhic victory for the Red Wings.
