The Toronto Maple Leafs are expected to go all out in the first of their back-to-back games against the Detroit Red Wings tomorrow night.
The start of the 2025-26 NHL regular season is fast approaching, with the last few preseason games set to go down in the next couple of days.
Both the Detroit Red Wings and the Toronto Maple Leafs will face each other in their final two exhibition games, Thursday in Toronto and Saturday in Detroit.
The two Atlantic Division rivals will likely compete for a playoff spot during the season, and it'll be interesting to see them face off before the real season starts.
Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube hinted at what we could see on the ice from the Leafs in their final home game of the preseason, and the Wings will need to prepare accordingly, especially after disappointing performances from key veterans.

During a press conference after today's practice, Berube mentioned that he would like to see the regular lineup get some repetitions during the game.
In his own words:
"There's a good possibility it'll be a good lineup. I always kind of wait to see if there's somebody that maybe can't go for some certain reason, but I'd like to get our lineup in there for sure."
The projected lineup features the same top six, with Knies, Matthews, Domi, McMann, Tavares, and Nylander, with Nick Robertson, Calle Jarnkrok, David Kampf, and Michael Pezzetta as extras.
Defenseman Simon Benoit also returned to the lineup in a regular jersey following an injury.
Here's the projected lineup:
Matthew Knies - Auston Matthews - Max Domi
Bobby McMann - John Tavares - William Nylander
Matias Maccelli - Nicolas Roy - Dakota Joshua
Steven Lorentz - Scott Laughton - Easton Cowan
Morgan Rielly - Brandon Carlo
Jake McCabe - Chris Tanev
Oliver Ekman-Larsson - Simon Benoit
Anthony Stolarz
