The Winnipeg Jets have come to a contract extension agreement with forward Kyle Connor before their first NHL regular season game against the Dallas Stars on October 9.

Several reports of Kyle Connor heading to the Detroit Red Wings next summer in free agency to accomplish the goal of suiting up for his hometown team can now be crushed, as a substantial signing has been announced.
Michigan-born forward Kyle Connor has officially signed:

Kyle Connor inks 8-year contract extension in Winnipeg

"Huge piece of business done as Darren Dreger reports nhljets signed Kyle Connor to 8-year, $96 million extension. It's the richest deal in franchise history - by nearly $37 million.
