The Buffalo Sabres have made an interesting decision in net before facing the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday, who have won five straight games.

After suffering a 5-1 loss against the Montreal Canadiens on October 9, a whopping 13 days ago, the Red Wings have failed to lose a game.
On a five-game winning streak, the Red Wings are heading to KeyBank Center in Buffalo to take on the Sabres, who most recently upset the Florida Panthers in a 3-0 shutout win.
In goal against the Panthers for their upset win was former Red Wings goaltender Alex Lyon, who has taken on a starting goaltender role since being acquired by the Sabres this summer.
Despite the hot recent play of Lyon, the Sabres are deciding to start Colten Ellis, a goaltender who has yet to play a game at the NHL level, against the red-hot Red Wings on Wednesday.
«There's been a lot of emotions the last couple days since finding out. Something I worked my whole life for, and just super grateful and happy for the opportunity."

The Sabres have high expectations for the young goaltender who was claimed off waivers earlier in the month.
«Everything's been awesome,» Sabres coach Lindy Ruff of Ellis. «Extremely hard worker. He spends all the extra time after practice with the extra guys, and he's put a lot of extra work in."

Let's also not forget that the Red Wings will be down one of their top point producers as Patrick Kane suffered an injury.
The Sabres are doubling down, inserting another youth piece in rookie center Noah Ostlund, who's arguably their best prospect, into the lineup tonight between Jason Zucker and Jack Quinn.
«I think it's typical when a young guy gets called up a lot of times he's cast in that little bit different role,» Ruff said. «I think tonight he's going to get a pretty good look, really, with us. So we may get to see a little bit more."

With a goaltender that nobody has any reads on, do you think the Buffalo Sabres could upset the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday night?
